Best practices for hardwood floor cleaning

It is extremely tough to keep hardwood floors looking like new.  Harder still to clean them.  Here are a few suggestions that can help.  First thing is to get a microfiber mop with a few mop heads.  Cold water with a stash of vinager.  Spray the solution on the hardwood floors with a spray bottle.  This will evenly disperse the water.  Only use a small amount and then wipe the floors with some pressure from the mop.  After it dries use a product thats all natural.  Not mop and glow which will over time leave a residue.  Bona is a good product to use.  Use a new microfiber mop head and with the spray bottle (cleaned out) spray small amounts of bona on the floor.  Small amounts go along way.  The idea with this concept is the first wash with vinager cleaned off debris and build up and then the bona or something similar with shine them up.  This will take longer to do but you will get better results.

Cleaning Mirrors and Light Bulbs

Let's start with mirrors.  It seems as though mirrors over sinks can have but not limited to hair, tooth paste, lipstick, oil, dust and other things.  I have been using a Rubbermaid microfiber glass cleaning cloth and just a small amount of Windex to clean all this and it works great.  The cloth leaves no streakes or lint and it can be washed about 300 times.  This works on Windows as well but I'll leave that topic alone for now.  With regards to cleaning light bulbs, the key is to clean them cold so shut them off first.  The hardest lightbulbs to clean are the new LED lights so this post is in regards to cleaning them. They don't wipe clean cold or hot.  The key is to unscrew them and use a small amount of goo-off or goo-gone.  Use a super small amount and use the glass microfiber towel to wipe it clean.  All the hair and lint will just wipe off.  If you use a dry cloth or even water the LED bulbs rubber like surface will prevent it from being cleaned.

This is the best time of year to review your businesses existing and potentially new cleaning needs. Office moral can be boosted when certain trouble areas are tended to more frequently.  We are often asked to bid on cleaning offices bathrooms, kitchen areas, light dust and vacuum.
